TYR'S AMBASSADORS
❧ TYR'S AMBASSADORS
Of all the roles offered by the gods of Asgard, Tyr's cluster of ambassadors is the one with the most potential for growth. At present, very little interaction exists between Asgard and other cultures or peoples within Yggdrasil, and what little does occur is often limited to one-off encounters... But it's only a matter of time before this changes, and Tyr's ambassadors will be called upon to navigate the tricky waters that make up Asgard's first contact with whoever or whatever might lie beyond the protective shroud of the forest.
Naturally, a facet of the ambassador role is the willingness to endeavor courageously beyond the safety of the city and to face new and unknown peoples of varying levels of benevolence or threat. It won't always be known what level of threat these encounters will hold until the ambassadors meet them face-to-face, and these ambassadors are expected to keep a cool and charismatic head regardless of what they find, avoiding conflict at any and all cost save for the cost of Wanderer lives.
Between diplomatic incidents, ambassadors are expected to study what little information is known on other peoples and cultures, and to familiarize themselves with the literature on the known history of Asgard.
Additionally, ambassadors might also take on the role of helping welcome new Wanderers to their new circumstances. These welcome ambassadors will be relied on to answer general questions about Asgard, technology, magic, and otherwise help newcomers get accustomed to the city and the gods that govern it. As such, welcome ambassadors are encouraged to linger at or around the castle on arrival days, maybe even with some form of care package for the new Wanderers as they emerge from their first encounter with the city's expansive pantheon.

❖ how being an ambassador works:
- The responsibilities of an ambassador are twofold: Within Asgard, and outside of it. Currently, the former is more prevalent. Tyr's ambassadors are encouraged to tag into the 'arrival' top-levels posted by each round's new Wanderers, under instruction from Tyr to be as helpful and informative as possible.
In addition to welcoming and educating new Wanderers, ambassadors are responsible for approaching and mediating encounters with others outside of Asgard's borders - both human and otherwise. Very little is known about other settlements, races, or cultures beyond the city's protective forest at current, but as the metaplot progresses, this will actually supersede the welcome wagon as the ambassadors' most crucial task. At this point, the Participation Sound-Off will come into play as different ambassadors maintain arguably positive relations with different settlements or peoples. Once this starts to occur, Tyr will also occasionally post solicitations on the Ambassador Needed top-level for situations that require the practiced touch of a diplomat to smooth things over.
